We Set Out to Solve Our Own Problems and in the Process, Solved Them for the Industry.

When Steven Kessler and Brendan Hill dreamed of opening their Bainbridge Island dispensary, Paper & Leaf, in June 2015, they didn’t envision spending hours upon hours managing their inventory.

“Manifest inbound took forever! It was a huge waste of time and money,” recalls Steven.

“Inventory had to be entered manually every time it came into the store, even if we had already carried the same product. Products in the government database didn’t match our inventory,” he explains.

“We were forced to submit requests and wait up to 24 hours for simple Cost of Goods reports for a 6 or 12 month period. At least 50% of our products didn’t scan at the register. We had to re-ring sales while customers walked to the ATM.”

“We were also tired of paying for a menu service that highlighted other dispensaries in the area and often drove traffic away from the shop.”

After years of frustrations with non-integrated systems, they thought there had to be a better way. But there wasn’t. So they built one from the ground up from within their retail shop.
